Joy IS for Catholics

Somehow the average Catholic does not associate joy with holiness but believes holiness is synonymous with misery. I have written articles on the theology of joy but in this post I will simply overwhelm you with quotes from the saints and the Bible, all affirming the fact that joy is at the core of our spirits when we live in, with, and through Christ.

  1. I knew a girl called Joy long ago … she was always melancholy. Face like a melon; body like a collie!

Seriously, most Christians I know seem to go through life with a face that looks like it has a permanent bad smell under their nose. Why can’t Christians be joyful? Is it lack of Faith? Now that’s something to think about.

    God bless you and yours.

  2. Love all of these quotes. Thank you!

Can’t remember who said this first: In order to find true joy, remember to put J-Jesus first, O-others second, and Y-yourself last.
