“Are you feeling pressured to have your holiest, sacrifice and prayer-filled Lenten Journey this year? Do you ever find that you start out on Ash Wednesday with ashes on your forehead and so many sacrifice and prayer resolutions, but get discouraged by the second week because you can’t stick to them all?
How about focusing on one solid resolution or Lenten program or one different challenge each week: one that our families might be able to stick with, will draw all of us closer to Jesus, and one that we can carry out with love in our hearts instead of grumpy Lent faces?”
Thoughts to Ponder
I choose to surrender the clutter in my life, heart, spirit so that Jesus will set me free from stuff and fill me with His Loving Presence
May the things of this world fall away so I may fall in love with God.
God only comes to fill the empty places.
Grace does what I cannot do.
Jesus will have to do everything.
This is true humility
Pride entices me to work harder, pray more, fast religiously and perform heroic acts of virtue. Humility accepts that only God can save me and other people. It is my job simply to surrender in prayer and give Him permission to flow through me how ever and when ever He wants
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Thank you for this post. We often start Lent with so many resolutions which get forgotten as time goes by. Focussing on more prayers is one way forward; and I also “try” that whatever I give up for Lent “e.g. chocolates” I give the money saved to charity.
God bless.
